Description
Travelling the world, generally speaking, gives a human being an opportunity to free himself from prejudice and to regard the world as it is rather than the way it ‘ought to be’. If that is not in itself reason enough to travel, it also gives him stories to tell. It is my hope that the reader of this book will enjoy the personal ones I have here selected to represent my experiences from travelling a part of the world which typically combines Hispanic virtues and vices with an Indian or African heart. All set against bustling societies, ancient monuments, landscapes, and seas that ravish the mind.
Lars Holger Holm was born in Stockholm, Sweden. Apart from being a prolific writer on a variety of subjects, and with a solid background in cultural media, he is also a performing classical violinist and a translator. A number of his books are available through Arktos, including Hiding in Broad Daylight, which is an analysis of the ideological agenda underlying artistic modernism; The Owls of Afrasiab, a historical novel about the fall of Constantinople to the Ottoman Turks in 1453; and Homo Maximus, a historico-philosophical essay comprising a discussion of the phenomenon of civilisation.
